POLYSACCHARIDES AND POLYSACCHARIDE DERIVEDPRODUCTS
FROM BASIC SCIENCE TO APPLICATIONS
Nice (France) - 23-26 September 2013
EPNOE (European Polysaccharide Network of Excellence) and the Cellulose and Renewable Materials of the American Chemical Society (ACS) decided in 2011 to join their efforts in promoting basic and applied sciences of polysaccharides by organising common events.
The 3rd EPNOE conference, EPNOE 2013, is thus jointly organised by EPNOE and ACS. EPNOE and ACS are expecting EPNOE 2013 conference to be the forum for all academic/research/industrial scientists and students dealing with polysaccharides and polysaccharide-derived products. Biologists, chemists, physicists, food specialists, technologists, environmentalists,… will meet and gain knowledge from other sides of polysaccharide science.

October 2012, the 19th: the French research network on mycotoxins organize its 3rd meeting in Bordeaux (France). Register until november the 4th!
This day concerns the researchers, institutional as well as the professional social actors sensitized by the mycotoxins problem.
PhD Massimo REVERBERI will ensure the introductory conference about the mechanisms controlling the mycotoxins biosynthesis by Aspergillus kind. During the four following sessions, the whole facet of the mycotoxins problems will be approached.

The French Funds for Food and Health launch its first project call for public reseach programs and large scale preventing actions. Applications are waited from july the 18th until ocotber the 17th.
The call is allocated with 1,8M€ shared out among 3 topics:
- Food and healt actions toward population with a risk of nutritional deficiency (e.i: underpriviledged populations...): 1,2M€ for maximum 3 projects from 2 to 3 years.
- Nutritional Information and nutritional balance: 200K€ for maximum 3 projects, from 1 to 2 years.
- Food pleasure mecanism comprehension: 400K€ for maximum 4 projects, from 1 to 2 ans.
This call is dedicated to public research organisms and teritorial communities, for collaborative or single projects. Companies participation in collaboration with public organisms s recommanded. Works have to take place in France.

The french agriculture and food department propose to support structuring and/or innovating investment projets in agribusiness industries.
The Strategic Intervention Funds for agribusiness industries (FISIAA) addresses to the process-marketing companies, firstly at SME and the intermediate companies whose raw materials and final products are agricultural products according to the European Union.
The FISIAA object is to support the emergence of projects carried by one or more companies in order to reinforce their competitiveness and to develop collective economic synergies.
The projects call proposes a financing which can reach 40% of the eligible spending and is open until June 20th, 2011.

On the last 3rd of march, AgroParisTech, INRA, CNAM and Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris launched the cereal studies plateform in Massy (91), near Paris.
This technical support center places at the disposal as of cereals processing undertakings, whatever their scope of application (functional flour, bread, biscuits, ingredients, texturing, nonfood applications …) :
- analytical tools: flour and pastes analyses, granulometry, rheology, microscopy…
- baking workshops : weighings, formulation, process (except fermentation) and cooking
- Industrial Pilots: thermomechanical treatment, conditioning, foisonnor, extrudor…
for
- initial training (Bac+3 or PhD) or made-to-order adult continuing education
- Disposal tools
- Expert testimony, consulting, short term (2 to 6 months) or long term (>1 year) research contracts ..

On November 29th, 2010 Bruno DeLaage and Gino Boismorin, respectively president and director of the Anger competitiveness cluster Végépolys, and Daniel Chéron and Gregoire-Yves Berthe, respectively deputy and director of the Cereales Vallee competitiveness cluster, concretized their partnership by the a convention signature. This partnership has the role to develop the projects between the members of the two clusters, in particular as regards vegetable genetics and physiology.

Céréales Vallée has just presented NUTRIPAN, project selected by FUI (french Interdepartmental Funds ) and financed by the Regional council of Auvergne, the General advice of Ain, European Union and 10 competitiveness cluster's partners. This project will make it possible to improve the French traditional bread by conferring to it more fibers, vitamins and minerals, less salt and not nutritional elements thanks to a comprehensive approach of the manufactoring process chain. Launched in September 2010, NUTRIPAN mobilizes 20 researchers during 4 years and profits from a global budget of 2.5 M€.
